The fourth Hycool_IT general assembly meeting took place on the 4th and 5th November at the Dipartimento di Energia premise at Politecnico di Milano in Italy.

In general the consortium discussed important issues to advance in the project objectives and took decisions to achieve the proposed objectives. Within the framework of the project’s first pillar, focused on work package WP1 concerning requirements and methodology definition, technical aspects in relation to the feedback received during the first review meeting were addressed, including the standardization topics. In this sense the consortium also tackled the scientific publication plan.
Within the second pillar focused on software, specifically work package WP2 concerning ICT ecosystem and orchestration, a presentation was provided aimed at identifying and discussing technical aspects to allow a smooth project presentation. The session covered the objectives, work completed so far and problems encountered, that was followed by a technical discussion that included updates on the ICT architecture of the BDT Environment presented by IDP, and updates on SMTS and SIL-based MPC algorithm presented by IDP and IMP.
Regarding work package WP3 -focused on developing innovative HYCOOL-IT components- a technical discussion on the development of SIMBOTS in Ecosimpro was important for its clarification and better understanding for the whole consortium. For work package WP4 concerning the development of rack-integrated adsorption chillers, the session included updates on the proof of concept, manufacturing and lab-testing of the PoC that was presented by SORGE, followed by the mathematical model of specific SIMBots explained by CNR.
The fourth pillar focused on TRL4-5 demonstration and validation, specifically work package WP5 concerning implementation and validation to renovate the servers’ room and cooling systems, a presentation aimed at discussing and defining the Execution Plan for the HYCOOL-IT Project, including both software (DTwin PaaS) and hardware components. The session covered the DTwin as PaaS, addressing data, model and software status along with next steps, followed by a specific GANTT Chart for construction works. Additionally, hardware component were discussed, including the demo site situation and stakeholders’ roles. Additionally, work packages WP6-7 featured a presentation aimed at identifying and discussing the Exploitation and Standardisation Plan for HYCOOL-IT.
The HYCOOL-IT project is progressing steadily across all work packages, with significant advancements being made in both technical development and implementation phases. During the consortium meeting, key decisions on the absortion chiller and the SIMbots were taken to address technical challenges and align efforts towards achieving the project objectives. These strategic determinations will enable the consortium to move forward effectively in the upcoming phases, ensuring timely delivery of deliverables and successful validation of the innovative cooling solutions.
