The Greek Hub plays a strategic role within the United Circles project, serving as a bridge between European circular economy objectives and regional implementation realities. Through its strong focus on construction and demolition waste, stakeholder engagement and institutional cooperation, the Greek Hub supports the translation of policy goals into practical actions at local and regional level. By fostering collaboration among public authorities, technical bodies and market actors, the Greek Hub contributes to the development, testing and future replication of circular construction solutions within the United Circles ecosystem.
In the framework of the United Circles project, the Greek Hub is progressively shaping its role as a facilitator of circular economy practices in the construction sector, with a strong focus on Construction and Demolition Waste (C&DW).

A key milestone in this process was the organisation and support of the event “Alternative Management of Construction and Demolition Waste in Private and Public Works”, held on 3 December 2025 in Xanthi, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, at the Regional Department of Thrace of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
The event brought together local authorities, engineers, contractors and relevant stakeholders, aiming to raise awareness and strengthen understanding of the regulatory, technical and organisational aspects of C&DW management.

Maria Chamitidou from the Regional Development Fund of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace attended the event and actively promoted the United Circles project, facilitating networking among key regional stakeholders. The meeting that followed and the discussions held during the event were particularly productive and contributed substantially to strengthening the positioning and future implementation of United Circles activities, as well as to stakeholder alignment and integration within the regional governance framework.
Through such local actions, the Greek Hub supports the broader vision of United Circles for sustainable and circular construction value chains across Europe.
