The online information meeting titled “Türkiye–Hungary Partnership in Innovation and Digitalisation under EU Funds”, organised in cooperation with the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs and the Hungarian Development Promotion Office (MFOI), was held on 22 October.
The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation between Türkiye and Hungary within the framework of EU direct management funds. It brought together a wide range of participants from the business community, universities, research centres, municipalities, and civil society organisations.

Opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Bernadett Petri, Managing Director of the Hungarian Development Promotion Office (MFOI); Bülent Özcan, Director General for Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation at the Directorate for EU Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Ahmet Halit Hatip, Director General for EU and Foreign Affairs at the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology.
During the meeting, Aygen Erkal, Secretary General of Türkiye İMSAD, participated as a speaker in the session titled “Turkish–Hungarian Success Story, United Circles Project” and shared experiences from the United Circles Project EU and other European Union-funded projects with the participants.

During the meeting, up-to-date information was provided on EU direct funding mechanisms, as well as on the Horizon Europe and Digital Europe programmes. Participants had the opportunity to evaluate cooperation opportunities between Türkiye and Hungary within these programmes and explore possibilities related to upcoming calls.
The meeting offered comprehensive insights into access pathways to EU funding mechanisms, the processes of transforming these funds into international projects, and new partnership opportunities focused on innovation and digitalisation.
