Twenty-one buildings in La Graciosa, of which three are public, are already energy independent thanks to the REACT research project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme. The objective is to achieve the energy independence of the islands through the combination of renewable energy sources and their storage, thanks to an active demand management platform, promoting the participation of citizens in a local energy community. This is explained by the person in charge of Communication of the REACT project in La Graciosa, Fausto Sainz.
