Workshop Highlights Decarbonization Strategies for Smarter, Sustainable Cities at 54th AiCARR International Congress
A dynamic workshop focused on the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of decarbonizing smart and digitalized buildings and cities took place during the 54th AiCARR International Congress, held March 25–26, 2026, at Fiera Milano in Rho, Italy.
Organized as part of the H2020 activities, the session attracted a diverse audience including scientists, policymakers, industry leaders, and members of the general public, with approximately 150 participants in attendance. The event underscored growing global collaboration to address climate challenges through innovation in urban infrastructure and building technologies.


The workshop emphasized actionable insights into energy efficiency, digital transformation in construction, and policy frameworks supporting net-zero transitions. The event demonstrated high-impact engagement across multiple sectors—bridging research, regulation, and public awareness.
Organizers highlighted the critical role of cross-sector dialogue in accelerating sustainable urban development, calling for continued investment in digital tools and inclusive policymaking to meet 2030 climate goals.
The paper, presenting part of Hycool_IT work and results, was highly appreciated by the audience, as it addressed a topic currently receiving significant attention within the scientific community.
